Fans had spotted her pushing his hand away from her stomach when they were standing with Claudia Winkleman upstairs.

This weekend, viewers noticed Wynne and Katya were standing apart from one another during the live show.

Many also commented on how Wynne didnt seem his usual happy, smiley self.

The Welsh singer and contestant has now explained that he needed to take a break from filming, but perhaps not for the reason viewers assumed.

Speaking on BBC Radio Wales, he said: There were some people saying like, Wynne has disappeared from the Clauditorium.

And like theres all these conspiracy theories.

The reality was, I had to go and get my trousers redone. Because they were sticking to the sticky tape on the side.

So I was being sewn into my costume downstairs.

The pair had danced a quickstep to Mr Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra.

Their routine finished with a blob of mayonnaise on Wynnes head as Katya cleaned it off.

Wynne revealed he quickly squirted a tube of mayo onto his head during the routine.

Katya, who appeared with her arms around Wynne on Radio Wales, said: He stank of mayonnaise the rest of the night!

Wynne and Katya have been under intense scrutiny recently after two rather awkward moments in week four.

The grope joke was shortly followed by Katya ignoring Wynne when he tried to high five her.

Russian dancer and choreographer later took to to Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two and said: I have to make this absolutely clear that this whole incident with the hand and the high five on Saturday night, it was an inside joke between Wynne and I.

Was it a silly joke? Yes. Was it a bad joke? Yes.
