A man has been found dead at a luxury five-star hotel in Ireland where Kim Kardashian and Kanye West honeymooned.
The victim, a US national in his 60s, was pronounced dead after allegedly being assaulted at the popular Ballyfin Demesne hotel near the Slieve Bloom mountains.
A man in his 30s believed to have been travelling with the American has been arrested in connection with the assault.
Police say the death was caused by a fatal assault and have launched an investigation. No charges have been reported at this time.
The Ballyfin Demesne, which charges £1,225 a night, is a popular spot for celebrities and famously hosted Kim Kardashian and kanye West during their five-day honeymoon in 2014 after they were turned away from Glin Castle.
Neither the victim nor the suspect have been named.
The hotel was recently voted Top Resort Hotel in Ireland and UK 2024 by Travel + Leisure magazine. In 2016 it was voted the world’s number one hotel according to over 300,000 readers of the influential New York travel magazine.
