A tower block in east London is on fire with flames seen pouring out of the windows.

There are 10 fire engines and around 70 firefighters tackling the blaze at the residential block in Queens Road West in Plaistow.

The fire is located in a 10th floor flat out of a building made of 15 floors, with both the balcony and the inside of the flat alight.

Its believed to be located at a residential block off Queens Road West, not far from the John F Kennedy School, Plaistow Primary School and Childrens Centre, and St Mary the Virgin Church.

About 30 people have been evacuated from the building. Three men had left the flat before the fire brigade arrived, and they are being treated by ambulance crews.

A large plume of thick black smoke was pictured rising into the sky.
