Commuters woke up to frosty weather conditions on the rails and roads this morning after snow and sleet fell overnight.
The cold snap has seen three Met Office yellow weather warnings for snow and ice put in place across Northern Ireland, the north of England, and northern and central Scotland.
And the snow has travelled much further south than expected, with the white stuff starting to fall in west London and Kensington this morning.
The icy conditions meant several schools have been forced to close, and trains are facing delays and cancellations throughout the day.
National Rail is predicting the poor weather will cause disruption and impact trains until at least 2pm.
There are no trains running between Nottingham and Worksop, with the lines closed in both directions while Network Rail investigate the rails.
Buses have replaced trains on some parts of the Transport for Wales network after the forecasted severe weather caused some lines to be suspended.
