One driver has died after five vehicles crashed on the M18 in South Yorkshire, just an hour before another serious smash nearby.
A male driver was killed yesterday after a pile-up on the M18 southbound near Doncaster at about 10.34am at J6.
He was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of the ambulance crews.
About an hour later, another collision involving two lorries happened between J7 and J6.
A red Scania HGV and white DAF HGV crashed which closed the road for several hours along with the road closure following the fatal incident.
The driver of the red lorry was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.
