A COUPLE who met while queuing at Pret have celebrated their first anniversary with a candle-lit dinner at the same coffee shop.

Juliet Brown, 27, and her partner Luke Isaac, 28, caught each others eye as they lined up for flat white coffees in the chains Balham shop a year ago.

Luke, an investment consultant, summoned the courage to strike up a conversation with Juliet – commenting on that specific mornings gloomy weather.

Juliet, who like Luke was working nearby from home that day, was planning to grab her hot beverage and rush back but she couldn’t resist staying a little longer.

They continued chatting, exchanged numbers, and the rest is history.

Fast forward to present day and Pret A Manger in Balham has been transformed for their special night.

Juliet, who works for the British Red Cross, said: I have friends and colleagues asking me which Pret we met at in the hopes they might go and have a similar encounter.

When Pret offered to help us celebrate we both knew there was only one thing for it – a Pret-themed anniversary dinner.

It was amazing to surprise Luke at our favourite coffee shop.

To mark the relationship milestone, the shop was decorated with fairy lights and fresh flowers, and the coffee was served in customised cups.

A croissant bouquet, which was commissioned especially, was also presented to them.

The happy couple were treated to a three-course dinner featuring their favourite foods lasagne soup, prosciutto mac and cheese, and fittingly, a love bar.

Luke and Juliet are now planning their next milestone moving in together.

In another story, a couple with a staggering 19-year age gap have revealed how they tied the knot just three months after meeting, all while facing wild accusations of being mother and daughter.

Having only dated men before, Olivia Reed had her eureka moment at 33 when she met her now-wife, Kelly.

Calling herself a lesbian is still new for Olivia, but she’s never been happier, despite the naysayers who have questioned their relationship.

The 34-year-old teacher from Frederick, Maryland, USA, said: “We were at a couple of stores and the checkout people were like, ‘Oh, is that your daughter?’

“I think when people see two women out together, maybe we’ll be at a restaurant or something, and people will just look at us sometimes.”

During a six-year relationship with a man, Olivia started to notice she had feelings for women and decided to explore them after her breakup.

After downloading the dating app, Bumble, she met Kelly Reed, 54, with her very first match.

The couple instantly hit it off and planned a three-day date despite living a whopping seven and a half hours apart.

With the almost two-decade age difference between the couple not fazing them, they acted quickly to take their relationship to the next level, marrying after just three months of dating.
